The end of an argument or discussion should be, not victory, but enlightenment

Hi! My name is David Munns, I studied in Medical Ethics and Law at Brunel University and my Masters at Keele University.

David Munns Founding Editor – Hippocrates’ Cave

I have 30 years experience as a Registered Nurse in general adult as well as mental health nursing. I am registered in the UK and USA to practice as an RN. Over the past several years I have undertaken study tours to the USA looking at comparative International mental health law and ethics as well as comparing different approaches to health care delivery within the context of mental health nursing.

My main focuses of interests are human rights law and mental health law, patient empowerment through education as well as ethical decision-making in nurse management. I arrived at the idea of a website for students and professionals of healthcare during my first year at Keele University.

Many of my fellow students were trainee doctors who took a sabbatical to study medical ethics and law. Their passion and interest in the subject and what they saw as a deficit in their general medical training, inspired me to put together a resource for not just the students but also medical professionals and the wider public audience. I hope you enjoy exploring Hippocrates Cave and over the coming months and years I will continue developing its contents. Please feel free to contact me with ideas that you feel may improve the site.
